Hart Consultations on New Housing and Future Vision

Hart is currently consulting on housing strategy and their vision for the future as they develop their vital Local Plan. Without a Plan we risk yet more “Watery Lanes” where developers chose sites with scant regard for whether or not they are the most suitable for development.

Every household should by now have received a leaflet from Hart describing the options Hart wish to refine.

See the Crookham Village Parish Council web site for links to the various documents and the on-line response form.

Closing date for the consultation is 15 January 2016 and it is VERY important that as many thoughtful responses as possible are received by the deadline.

Fleet Area Bus Survey

Stagecoach, the local bus operator, is conducting a very important survey that looks likely to influence the future of local bus services. Responses are required by 1 June 2015.

The survey is HERE or on-line HERE.

If you want local buses to improve, please take part in this survey.

See HERE for information on local public transport options at the moment.

Zebon Copse Litter Pick 1 March 2015

Despite a very disappointing turnout from local residents, but with good support from local Cache In Trash Out geocaching enthusiasts, 21 bags of detritus were collected from around the estate for collection by Hart Council.

It remains to be seen whether the local council will continue to support these litter picks now that the eagle eyes of legal liability and health and safety have been turned on such voluntary activities. As a result, Hart would not provide bags, which ZCRA had to purchase, and would only agree at the last minute to collect the spoils. So much for the Big Society.

Albany Park application refused by Hart

The Albany Park application by Martin Grant for 300 houses adjacent to Watery Lane was refused by the Hart Planning Committee, a decision subsequently endorsed by the full Hart Council on 25 September.

PLANNING APPEAL

Martin Grant have appealed Hart’s refusal. The hearing in public will be held in the Lismoyne Hotel, Fleet for approximately 8 days from 10am on Tuesday 14 April 2015. Related documents are available on Hart’s web site HERE. The more local people who show an interest and attend, the greater the weight which may be given to local inputs by the Inspector.

Appeal held. Good local participation.

Latest estimate for the appeal decision to be published is 26 June 2015.

Loss of No30 Bus Service

Major changes to local bus services follow cuts in subsidies from Hampshire County Council and a consequential re-appraisal of routes.

Of particular note is withdrawal from 5 January 2015 of the #30 service which currently serves Zebon Copse. This leaves just the #72 that doesn’t come into the estate, but passes along Gally Hill Road.
