The Basingstoke Canal

The Basingstoke Canal offers boating opportunities as well as a long flat route of around 32 miles for walking and cycling between Greywell in the West and Wisley in the East.

Galleon Marine at Odiham offers boats for hire – from short trips in rowing boats to longer trips in narrow boats.

The John Pinkerton 50-seater trip boat normally operates out of Odiham during the middle of the year running both public trips and contract hires.

For the less agile, Accessible Boating operates two specially-equipped boats out of Odiham with lifts for wheelchairs and accessible on-board facilities – one for day trips and the other for longer cruises.

spar

Spar Shop in Frenchmans Creek

Rajan and his family have run the Spar Shop for many years, providing the residents of the estate and the surrounding area with a cheery smile and excellent service. Following a fire in the spring of 2013, the shop was completely refurbished, and now stocks more than ever. With the exception of a very few public holidays, the Spar is open daily from 6am to 10pm.

Redfields Garden CentreIMG_0615

As well as our very own Spar shop, the newly rebuilt Redfields Garden Centre opened at the beginning of December 2013, offering a wonderful selection of garden items, plants, and tools, as well as a huge array of gifts, books, toys and seasonal goods, and a new deli counter with delicious treats. The new Redfields also has a very luxurious, light and spacious restaurant, providing everything from morning coffee and cooked breakfasts, to hot lunches and afternoon teas.

Other Local Shops

We are also very lucky, here on Zebon Copse Estate, to be within easy reach of some excellent local shops in nearby Fleet, Farnham and Odiham plus a Post Office/general store and a newsagent in Crookham Village.

Local Walks

There is an extensive local network of public footpaths/bridleways, the canal towpath and, within the wooded area of Zebon Copse, there are further paths and boardwalks to help you explore and enjoy the beautiful local countryside.

Recreation

The playing field adjacent to the Community Centre at the end of Danvers Drive is used at times during the season by local football clubs, but at most other times the area is open to general recreational activities.

Avondale Tennis Club is to be found along Ewshot Lane behind Redfields Garden Centre.

The Views, behind the Harlington Centre in Fleet, has a well-equipped skateboard park.
